Blues midfielder on chalking up 250 appearances for Town

Cole Skuse described making 250 appearances for Ipswich Town as a "massive honour".

The 33-year-old midfielder, who arrived at Portman Road in 2013 having progressed through the youth system and spent nine years at Bristol City, made his 250th appearance for Blues against MK Dons last week, and is now on 251 having played in the win over Gillingham at the weekend.

"I'm very proud, but I didn't actually know I'd got to that number, my wife had to tell me before the 249th game!" Cole told the Club website.

"It came as a surprise but it's certainly something to be proud of. It's a big achievement when I think about it.

"To play more than 300 games for Bristol City, my boyhood club, and then get such a good move here and go on to make 250 appearances is a massive honour - not just for me but also my family.

"I've met some amazing people here, a lot of which are behind the scenes. They're the ones that help you achieve things like this and I'd like to take this opportunity to say thank you to those people."

Skusey looks back on his time at ITFC in an in-depth interview in Saturday's official matchday programme.
