NOLAN | GAME OF TWO HALVES

17 September 2019

Goalscorer on three points at Stadium MK

Jon Nolan described Town's 1-0 victory away to MK Dons as a typical 'game of two halves', and praised the resilience shown by the Blues defence in the second 45 minutes at the Stadium MK to secure all three points.

The midfielder latched on to an Emyr Huws cross in the 12th minute to score what proved to be the match winner as the Town defence stood resolute in the second half to record their fourth consecutive clean sheet in the league.

"It was the typical game of two halves. First half we played well and moved the ball around nicely and second half we showed the other side of the game in order to keep a clean sheet and win the game," Jon told iFollow Ipswich.

"We're going to need both qualities, going forward and defending, if we're to achieve what we want to this season so it was good that we showed that tonight.

"I thought the lads at the back were excellent, and Tomas (Holy) made some brilliant saves. We put our bodies on the line and showed great determination as a team.

"An early goal is massive in matches like this too. It was a great ball from Emms (Emyr Huws) and thankfully I've managed to divert it into the far corner.

"I'm obviously happy with the goal but the main thing I'm pleased about is being back on the pitch and contributing to the team."
