Roberts nets first goals for Town as Blues beat Spurs youngsters
Jordan Roberts thought Town produced a good team performance, particularly in the second half, as Blues came from behind to beat Spurs U21s 2-1 at Portman Road this evening.
Armando Dobra twice set up Roberts for the 25-year-old to notch his first goals for the Club as Paul Lambert's side kicked off their Leasing.com Trophy campaign with three points.
"We had plenty of chances in the first half so it was frustrating to go in behind at the break," the forward said.
"But I still think overall it was a good team performance. We knew what we could do because we were creating the chances in the first half but in the second half we started quickly and took our chances.
"We know our main priority for the season but winning is a great habit. If it's in the league or cup it's always a good feeling and out there today the lads did well and it gives the manager options for the league games coming up.
"Competition in this squad is very healthy and when you get a chance you have to do everything you can to take it. I'm happy with how things went tonight and we go again on the 14th against Doncaster."
