JUDGE WINS IRELAND CAP

6 September 2019

Alan part of Town connection in green while Dozzell in action for Young Lions

Alan Judge made his seventh appearance for the Republic of Ireland in their Euro 2020 qualifier against Switzerland.

The 30-year-old Town midfielder came on a second-half substitute in the 1-1 draw in Dublin that keeps Ireland at the top of their group.

Former Blue, David McGoldrick, scored the Republic’s equaliser six minutes from time with his first goal for his country.

Ex-Town boss Mick McCarthy is in charge of the Irish - his second spell as national team manager - while Terry Connor and Andy Liddell, who were both part of his coaching team at Portman Road, are alongside him again for Ireland.

Andre Dozzell was also in international action, playing for England U20s for the fourth time in their goalless draw with the Netherlands at Shrewsbury’s Montgomery Waters Meadow.
