BOSS | ONE LOOK WAS ENOUGH

26 September 2019

Instant call on Norwood says Paul as striker is set for a reunion with Rovers

Paul Lambert said he only needed one look at James Norwood before deciding he wanted him at the Club.

James will face Tranmere on Saturday for the first time since leaving Prenton Park to join Blues in the summer as Town look to maintain the position at the top of the table.

“It will be another tough game for us on Saturday,” Paul told the Club website.

“James will obviously be up against his old club and he was a major part of their team last year.

“I went to watch him on a Friday night for Tranmere last season and came away thinking we need to try and sign him. It only took one take.”

It hasn’t taken long for another Blue to make his mark with the Town boss either.

Kane Vincent-Young has taken the switch from Colchester to Portman Road in his stride and scored his first goal for the Club in last weekend’s win at Gillingham.

“Kane has been fantastic for us,” said Paul. “His performances have been incredibly high defensively and offensively and he gives us another dimension down the right side.”

Tickets are still available for Saturday’s game against Tranmere. Click here for full details and a reminder that tickets are available from the Ticket Office on the day. There are cash turnstiles for home supporters.
