“Obviously it’s nice to receive recognition but that award is for all the staff, not just me. It’s about the collective"

Paul Lambert has picked up the Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month award.

The Town boss guided Blues to the top of the table at the end of August, with four wins and two draws from six league games.

He beat off the challenge from Danny Cowley, then Lincoln - now Huddersfield boss - Blackpool’s Simon Grayson and Mark Robins at Coventry.

Paul sees the award as very much a team effort though, telling the Club website:

“Obviously it’s nice to receive recognition but that award is for all the staff, not just me. It’s about the collective.

“From the time I arrived at the Club, the support behind me from the staff I brought in to the people who I inherited has been fantastic. The players have also been terrific for me.”

Town striker Kayden Jackson was one of four names up for the Player of the Month award after bagging four goals in the month.

He joined Rochdale frontman Ian Henderson, Lincoln goalkeeper Josh Vickers and Peterborough midfielder Marcus Maddison on the shortlist, with Maddison picking up the award.
