"I want to really thank them because they are a massive part of our success”
Tomas Holy paid tribute to the Blue Army after Town fans packed out the away end again at the weekend.
Blues sold out the full allocation with more than 2000 making the trip to Gillingham to see Kane Vincent-Young’s first goal for the Club earn three more points for Paul Lambert’s side.
It was Tomas’ first return to Priestfield since his summer move to Town and he told iFollow Ipswich: “The fans are absolutely crazy. Are they normal? I seriously love them!
“I have spent over two years at Gillingham and this is only the second time I have seen the away stand full. I want to really thank them because they are a massive part of our success.”
The win took Town back to the top of League One, with the fifth successive clean sheet equalling a Club record.
“I'm very happy, another clean sheet, another three points on the board and that is the most important thing for us,” added Tomas.
“It’s very positive that we're top of the league and we will work hard to stay there as long as possible.”
