Town supports local campaign to keep county active
The ‘Keep Moving Suffolk’ campaign has been launched to help keep Suffolk residents moving during these difficult times and support Suffolk to become the most active county in England www.mostactivecounty.com.
Prompted by people being required to isolate, gyms, leisure centres and swimming pools closed and classes and activities cancelled, there are growing concerns that physical activity levels will tumble causing a long-term impact on physical and mental health and wellbeing in the county.
Keep Moving Suffolk underpins Sport England’s excellent ‘Join the Movement’ campaign by providing a local offer of support and encouragement to local people to get active and stay active during the Coronavirus outbreak.
It will communicate how important it is to be active or to remain active at the current time. It will provide hints, tips and advice and a trusted one-stop-shop full of local and national information and resources that have been developed specifically to make it easy for people to become or remain active at home.
The website (www.keepmovingsuffolk.com) and associated social media channels have gone live today and the campaign is expected to build and grow over the coming days and weeks.
Please help reach as many people as possible across the county by:
* If you’re feeling brave why not film and post a 10-15 second clip of yourself being active with the message – “Keep Moving Suffolk” at the end
*Use the hashtags #KeepMovingSuffolk and #StayInWorkOut in all your relevant social media
* Encourage people to be active at home so that we can help promote and publicise it
*Follow Keep Moving Suffolk’ on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook
In these extraordinary times, it is more important than ever that we work together to support our communities. Together we can help keep Suffolk moving.
