Town boss's thoughts following Kassam Stadium stalemate

Paul Lambert said given the injury situation at the Club, tonight's point away to Oxford was a good one.

Blues drew 0-0 at Kassam Stadium, with 11 first-team players absent from the trip.

Jon Nolan returned to the starting XI after picking up a groin injury against Shrewsbury last weekend, with Brett McGavin missing out through illness.

"There are an awful lot of young players playing for us at the moment, we have so many injuries" the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.

"There are positives from the game tonight, though, given how the last two games have gone.

"Brett fell ill overnight so couldn't be involved today, I'm hoping he'll be okay for Saturday.

"With a limited squad we defended strongly and earned a good point tonight."
