"Players feed off supporters...we need them"

Paul Lambert says Town will feel the effect of having supporters at Portman Road tomorrow.

Two thousand season ticket holders will be in the stands for the visit of Pompey, with Blues looking to build on a win over Plymouth last weekend.

"It's great for us and every football club," Paul told iFollow Ipswich.

"Hopefully they can come and help us and support us like they've always done. We've been waiting for this moment.

"I saw the fans at Plymouth and they seemed to enjoy it. Our supporters will get behind the guys and we need them.

"Players feed off supporters and they play a part in driving players on. I've always said it's a different game without the fans so I think everyone is looking forward to tomorrow.

"We're third in the table and I'm proud of the fight we're showing at the moment. Everyone knows the situation with injuries so I'm pleased with how the lads are doing and they will be pleased to have supporters getting behind them."
