"It was great to have fans back and we're annoyed that we couldn't give them a performance or result that they wanted to see"
Stephen Ward said Town were frustrated that they couldn't build on last week's win with a positive performance or result against Portsmouth today.
Blues came from behind to beat Plymouth seven days ago, but fell to a 2-0 defeat at home to Pompey this afternoon.
Two thousand Blues fans watched on at Portman Road - today's match being the first with fans at Portman Road for 280 days.
"We're bitterly disappointed, the whole group is," Wardy told iFollow Ipswich
"Last week's win was a good one and we couldn't build on it, so that's very frustrating.
"It was great to have fans back and we're annoyed that we couldn't give them a performance or result that they wanted to see.
"We need to be tougher in games. It's concerning that we're conceding the first goal in matches and we need to fix that.
"We had a great start to the season and have a lot of younger lads playing at the moment because of injuries, but we need to learn to be more streetwise.
"We're the only ones that can change it and ultimately we need to be harder to beat."
