BOSS | IT WILL GO TO THE WIRE

21 February 2020

“The top two was the target when we started the season and it still is"

Paul Lambert says Town’s target remains the top two places but expects the promotion race to run until the end of the season.

Blues sit five points adrift of top two, Rotherham and Coventry, ahead of the weekend visit from Oxford, who are only five points outside the Play-Off places themselves.

“There is a long way to go yet, a lot of football to be played,” the Town boss writes in his column in Saturday’s matchday programme.

“We had a good win against Burton last week and now we have to build on it.

“It looks like it will go down to the wire because things are changing every week in the top six but we are in a good position.

“The top two was the target when we started the season and it still is. We’ll see what happens.”
