"They were fantastic, every one of them and it was a performance to be really proud of”
Paul Lambert hailed the win over Burton as the best performance from his team as Town boss.
Two goals from Alan Judge and Kayden Jackson gave Blues a 4-1 win after the Brewers had taken an early lead through Jamie Murphy.
“We were outstanding and could have won by more,” Paul told iFollow Ipswich.
“We could have scored in the first few minutes, then they went up the other end and scored with a deflection.
“Judgey hits the bar and Kayden has a chance and you start to think ‘oh no, surely it’s not going to be like that again’ but then Judgey scores with the hardest chance of the lot and we went on from there.
“We passed the ball well, were brave on the ball and for me, that was the best performance since I’ve been here.
“I say that for many reasons. We’ve had things go against us over the last few weeks and the players had to deal with the pressure of that in front of 20,000.
“Then we go behind and that adds to it so dealing with that pressure and playing as well as they did, that’s why I say it’s the best performance. They were fantastic, every one of them and it was a performance to be really proud of.”
