BOSS RUES MISSED CHANCES AGAIN

11 February 2020

"We got the ball in the right areas but it’s about putting the ball into the net and we didn’t do that"

Paul Lambert was left frustrated as three points slipped by at Wimbledon.

Blues dominated the game and had far the better chances but couldn’t find a way past Joe Day in the Dons’ goal.

“The chances we had were huge so it was very disappointing not to get the win,”  the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.

“We controlled the game and played some good football. We got the ball in the right areas but it’s about putting the ball into the net and we didn’t do that.

“We have to be more ruthless. I’m not going to have a go at players though, we have to stick together.

“I’m 100 per cent confident we have the players to score goals because they have shown they can but we have to start winning games, we know that.

“We have to go again on Saturday. The expectation will be there but you have to stand up and be counted. You have to do that when you are playing for a big club like this one.”
