Viral scores twice as Young Blues earn point against Hornets
Town U23s drew 2-2 with Watford at Playford Road this afternoon.
Allan Viral (pictured) scored twice for Gerard Nash and Chris Hogg's side on his first start for the U23s.
The Young Blues started brightly and had a deserved lead in the 17th minute when a cross from the left found Viral at the back post. The French midfielder brought the ball down well before firing back across goal and into the bottom corner with his right foot.
But just before half-time the visitors levelled. Joao Pedro worked his way into the box before finding the bottom corner with a left-footed strike from eight yards out.
Town restored their lead after the restart, though, when Viral curled into the far corner of the net from just outside the penalty area.
The lead lasted just a few minutes, though, as second-half substitute Sam Dalby capitalised on a slip from Town 'keeper Adam Przybek to equalise for the away side.
Both sides played good football in very testing conditions but neither could find a winner as it finished all square.
U23s: Przybek, Cotter (Curtis), Andoh, Ndaba, O'Reilly, Hughes, McGavin, Viral (Z Brown), Gibbs, Morris, Oppong (Healy).
