Trust introduce girls football scheme at Portman Road
Ipswich Town Community Trust have teamed up with Suffolk FA to bring SSE Wildcats football to Portman Road.
SSE Wildcats Girls’ Football Clubs provide girls with weekly opportunities to play football and take part in organised sessions, in a fun and engaging environment created exclusively for girls.
The sessions will begin in April and will take place two days a week at Portman Road. They will provide a safe environment where girls can have fun engaging with sport, develop fundamental skills, try a variety of sessions, learn new things and create foundations for a lifelong love of sport. These sessions are for girls who are starting their football journeys, or budding footballers who wish to enhance their skills, as well as pass on their knowledge to other Wildcats.
Ipswich Town Community Trust will help support further development of the Wildcats in the centre by helping players and parents find weekend teams to play for to further their love of the game. Those who show particular talent will be offered the chance to join on the ITFC female only pathway.
Sessions will run on Mondays and Thursdays, 5-6pm – with a cost of just £3 per session (paid per block, at the start of each term) delivered by the Community Trust's Level 2 qualified coaches.
