Positives to take says Town midfielder as Blues leave Oxford with a point in testing conditions
Emyr Huws thought Town put in a smart performance in the goalless draw with Oxford United at The Kassam Stadium this evening.
Conditions were testing to say the least in Oxfordshire, particularly in the first half, as referee Tom Nield decided to suspend play for 10 minutes due to the strong wind and a waterlogged pitch.
The ground staff worked their magic and the game continued, but neither side were able to break the deadlock.
"We were on top in the first half and showed good desire throughout the 90 minutes in my opinion. I think all things considered the point is a positive one," the Welsh midfielder told iFollow Ipswich.
"The pitch conditions in the first half were ridiculous, particularly in the middle of the park where players were slipping everywhere, so it wasn't easy.
"Both sides were up against it but I thought we put in a smart performance. We've been much better since the turn of the year and this was another display that I think we can take into Tranmere at the weekend.
"Personally I'm delighted to be playing and I feel good. I want to build on it and help the team push up the league table."
