“It’s a starting block to push on now into the new year,” says Emyr.

Emyr Hughes hopes that yesterday’s 1-1 draw at Wycombe can be the platform for Town to kick-start their season.

The midfielder recognised the importance of responding to the defeat at Lincoln, with Blues looking to get back to winning ways in Saturday's Trophy tie at Exeter.

"I think if we took our chances we’d have three points. We’ll look at the positives, build on it, and go again," Emyr told iFollow Ipswich.

"A point is a point, especially after the last couple of results. It’s a starting block to push on now into the new year.

"We’re looking forward to the second half of the season. We want to win games and push up the league.

"We need to win every game now. We’ll look to progress in that tie, do well in that competition and build the momentum again."
