WILL KEEN TO USE OXFORD EXPERIENCE AT TRANMERE

16 January 2020

“We know it’s going to be tough and we’ve got to do a lot of the things we were doing the other night”

Will Keane says that Town will need to put in another solid performance if they are to keep their unbeaten League run going at Tranmere on Saturday.

Blues were held to a 0-0 draw in testing conditions at Oxford on Tuesday night, with the weather likely to have a part to play at Prenton Park after the Rovers’ scheduled FA Cup tie was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch earlier this week.

He told the Club website: "Obviously the conditions were terrible and dictated the way the game was going to go. There wasn’t too much quality. It was one of those games where we had to put in a performance where we were hard to break down and solid first and foremost.

"I’ve not seen the pitch myself but I’ve heard that it’s quite a lot worse than the Oxford one. Obviously their game was called off the other night.

"We’ve just got to prepare for it. We know it’s going to be tough and we’ve got to do a lot of the things we were doing the other night. Winning our individual battles, putting ourselves about and making the best of the situation and then trying to nick a win."
