Paul hails quality goals and all-round performance at Prenton Park
Paul Lambert felt Town were fully deserving of the three points as Blues came from behind to win at Tranmere.
Rovers led at half-time through a header from Manny Monthe but two well worked goals from Flynn Downes and Kayden Jackson gave Blues the win in a game played on a difficult pitch.
“I thought from the off we played well,” the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.
“We didn’t deserve to be behind but our goals were quality goals. It was a great cross from Luke Garbutt and Flynn does well to get on the end of it and then Cole [Skuse] starts the move, James [Norwood] puts the ball over the top and it was a great finish from Kayden.
“I was really pleased with everyone. The three at the back were really strong and composed and it was a good performance all the way through.
“The pitch was a leveller for sure. The groundstaff did well to get the game on and you can’t control the weather but it’s not good for anyone to play on that pitch. The Tranmere lads will say the same.
“We’ve come through it though and it’s a good three points. We are right in there and playing well.”
