"He’s a big talent and he will be better for it I’m sure"
Paul Lambert says Idris El Mizouni’s loan move to Cambridge is exactly what he needs at this stage of his career.
The midfielder, another product of the Club’s Academy, has joined the League Two club until the end of the season.
“It’s important that he goes out and plays first-team football. It’s the next stage of his development,” the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.
“He’s a really good player. It benefited Woolfy [Luke Woolfenden] to go out on loan to Swindon and hopefully it will be the same for Idris.
“He’s a big talent and he will be better for it I’m sure. It’s not just playing games either, it’s the whole thing that goes with going to another club.
“Idris has been around me a year and a bit and he knows now what I think of him. He’s too good for U23s football. He needs games and I think it will be a good move for him.”
Paul didn’t rule out more of Town’s youngsters going on loan before the January transfer window shuts.
“I’m an advocate of getting some of the boys out there playing men’s football, league football. That’s when you come on quicker. If there is something there, we will look at it, he added.”
