HUWS A CLEVER BOY THEN!

28 January 2020

Boss on Emyr: "He’s a terrific footballer. I thought that when I first saw him play for Man City years ago and he’s showing that for us now”

Paul Lambert has paid tribute to the form of Emyr Huws since his return to the first-team as Town look to maintain pole position in League One at Rotherham tonight.

The Wales international has been a regular starter in recent weeks after regaining full fitness following an injury plagued two years and will be hoping to feature against the Millers in a top of the table clash.

“Emyr has been fantastic for us, having played game after game now over the last four or five weeks,” the Town boss told the Club website.

“His left foot gives you balance in the team; he very rarely gives the ball away and he does the simple things brilliantly. The hardest pass is the simple one because no one wants to play it but he has it down to a fine art.

“It must have been very frustrating for him because of the injuries and this was always going to be a big year for him but he has been superb. He’s a very clever player, a terrific footballer. I thought that when I first saw him play for Manchester City years ago and he’s showing that for us now.”
