"Marcus has been great and I’ll give him everything I’ve got. It won’t be for the lack of trying because we both want the best for Ipswich Town.”
Paul Lambert says he will give it everything he’s got to bring success to Ipswich Town.
The Town boss signed an extension to his contract hours before the New Year’s Day draw at Wycombe that sees him stay at Portman Road until 2025.
“Marcus and I have been talking for a while and it was all agreed about a month ago, maybe longer,” Paul told the Club website.
“There were just a few things that needed to be tidied up before the Club were able to announce it.
“We speak all the time, Marcus, Lee [O’Neill, general manager football operations] and myself about what we want to achieve here.
“When I came to the Club, Marcus asked me to help rebuild where it needed, to reconnect with the supporters and to move Ipswich in the right direction again.
“We are getting there. There are a lot of positives with the supporters coming back, the work in the community with the Trust. It’s going to take a lot of work - and time.
“It’s small steps but I love the Club. I love the area. Marcus has been great and I’ll give him everything I’ve got. It won’t be for the lack of trying because we both want the best for Ipswich Town.”
