BOSS | PITCH MAY PLAY A PART

17 January 2020

“The surface looks as though it will churn up in no time so we may have to play the conditions accordingly"

Paul Lambert says the condition of the Prenton Park pitch will have to be taken into consideration when Blues take on Tranmere on Saturday.

Rovers had their FA Cup replay against Watford postponed on Tuesday because of a waterlogged pitch and there have been concerns over the weekend game going ahead.

The pitch is covered though and with the weather set to improve, Rovers are confident it will go ahead.

“I’ve been shown pictures of the pitch and it doesn’t look good, does it?” Paul told iFollow Ipswich.

“It is what it is though. We can’t control the weather and we’ll get on with it.

“The surface looks as though it will churn up in no time so we may have to play the conditions accordingly.

“It’s no good looking to play the ball out from the back if the pitch means we might get caught out. We will have a look when we get there and take it from there.”
