“It was vital as individuals; it was vital as a team and it was vital for the Club that they all turned up and played like they did"
Paul Lambert felt Town’s performance warranted more than the point at Adams Park and was delighted with the reaction from his players after the defeat at Lincoln last time out.
James Norwood’s ninth goal of the season gave Blues the lead early in the second-half but league leaders Wycombe levelled through David Wheeler.
“I thought we deserved to win the game. We had the better chances definitely,” the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.
“We were really good with the ball and there was a lot of pleasing things out there.
“Judgey [Alan Judge] could have had a hat-trick. If you want anyone on the chances it was him and overall he was very good. That was much more like him.
“It was a great goal from us as well. We work on things like that on the training ground. It was a fantastic delivery from Garbutt and a great header.
“Their goal was disappointing. We needed to deal with the ball into the big man [Adebayo Akinfenwa] better but I have to be pleased with the performance.
“It was vital as individuals; it was vital as a team and it was vital for the Club that they all turned up and played like they did after the Lincoln game. It was a great response. Now let’s see where we can go from him.”
