It will be a tough game but we will go there in a good place says Paul as Town look to return to promotion spot
Town will return to the top two places with a win at fellow promotion chasers Oxford tonight.
Blues travel to the Kassam Stadium three points adrift of second-placed Wycombe but with a game in hand and a better goal difference and manager Paul Lambert is looking for a continuation of the recent performances in the league.
“It was much more like us at Wycombe on New Year’s Day and then again on Saturday against Accrington,” Paul told the Club website.
“The intensity was very high and we got on the ball and played.
“That is what we are looking for from the team but I have very happy with where we are.
“We are just off the top two with a game in hand. It will be a tough game tonight at Oxford but we will go there in a good place.
“There’s been a bit of negativity around that the players have had to deal - we are third - but I’m delighted with how they have bounced back.
“We have a young side and it’s the first time many of the players have had to handle the pressure of that demand to win every week and be at the top of the table. It’s a new thing for this club as well.
“Experienced players are ones that have 200 games in the Championship. How many of those have we got? Not many. The expectation has been there from day one but this is what I said it would be - a tough league.”
