"I was really pleased when I heard I was starting and to get 70 odd minutes under my belt was really good"
Teddy Bishop said he felt sharp as he played 75 minutes of Town's 2-1 defeat against Exeter in the leasing.com Trophy yesterday.
The midfielder started for Paul Lambert's side at St James Park and impressed, particularly in the early stages, despite the hosts prevailing over Blues.
"I was really pleased when I heard I was starting," Teddy told iFollow Ipswich.
"To get 70 odd minutes under my belt was great and it should be good for me with lots of games coming up.
"I felt sharp out there and thought I got stronger as the game went on. It was a positive for me on the personal side.
"Unfortunately we didn't get the result we wanted, though. In football you get punished if you don't take your chances and that's what happened."
