Woolfy thriving in new setup and full of praise for defensive team-mate
Luke Woolfenden is enjoying playing as part of a back three for Town and says the formation plays to his strengths.
Blues have been operating with James Wilson sandwiched in between Luke Chambers (right) and Woolfenden (left) since the start of the calendar year and have just conceded just two goals in the league in that time - both from dead ball scenarios.
"We're playing three at the back and that gives me a chance to get forward. I like to do that and I think that it has shown in recent games.
"To some extent we were doing it with two central defenders but now we know, if the ball is on your side, you have the licence to join in with attacks.
"If it's not on then we provide the option to get the ball back then switch it to the other side. I think we're all enjoying the style.
"James deserves plenty of credit as part of the three too. He doesn't mess about and he's the perfect man to have between myself and Chambo. He's been a great addition to the squad."
