Town midfielder surprises youngsters at Portman Road

Andre Dozzell visited a local primary school tournament at Portman Road this afternoon. The tournament was delivered by coaches from the Community Trust on the EFL Day of Action.

The 20-year-old took time to join in with the mini-games that were taking place, before answering questions from the inquizitive children who were keen to find out more about Andre and life as a professional footballer.

Andre spoke to iFollow Ipswich about the importance of the Community Trust's work: "It's really important, these kids out here playing football can be the next generation of fans.

"I remember when I was a youngster at school and we saw footballers from Ipswich, and I was starstruck. So it's nice to come and put a smile on their faces today."

Andre's visit coincided with the EFL Day of Action, which is an annual event that provides clubs and their community trusts with the chance to highlight the positive impact football has in changing people’s lives.
