“My comments were aimed at his judgment calls during the game and not his integrity as a referee”
Paul Lambert has been fined £1,750 after admitting a charge for a breach of FA Rule E3 that followed Blues’ defeat at Lincoln last month.
The Town boss’ comments in a post-match interview were judged to have brought the game into disrepute and constituted improper conduct.
Paul attended a ‘virtual’ personal hearing and apologised for his comments made about referee Kevin Johnson after the official awarded a controversial penalty that gave the Imps a 1-0 win.
“I’ve sent my apologises to the referee for any offence my comments may have caused,” Paul told the Club website.
“They were said in the heat of the moment after a game where I felt we lost because of the ‘wrong’ decision to award a penalty to Lincoln.
