And boss to defend himself over comments in media after game
Town have been fined £2500 for ‘mass confrontation’ towards the end of the defeat against Lincoln, with the Imps also punished.
Blues midfielder Jon Nolan was handed a straight red card for a foul on Harry Anderson during the clash at Sincil Bank last month, with players from both sides coming together after the incident.
Town and Lincoln admitted the charge of failing to ensure that their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion, a breach of FA Rule E20, with the Imps fined £2000 after they successfully contested the standard penalty.
Paul Lambert was also shown a red card at the end of the 1-0 defeat and was handed a one match touchline ban after venting his frustrations at referee Kevin Johnson over his decision to award what turned out to be a decisive penalty to Lincoln.
The Town boss has now been charged with a breach of FA Rule E3 for his comments in the media following the game, which it’s claimed constitute improper conduct.
Paul has until Friday 6 November to provide a response and is expected to explain his comments to a FA disciplinary panel in person.
