“Teddy’s injured his ankle. It looks a bad one, but we will have to wait and see"
Paul Lambert says Teddy Bishop’s ankle injury looks 'a bad one', meanwhile a groin problem forced Jon Nolan off in the first half of today’s win over Shrewsbury.
The Town boss also explained that Gwion Edwards, Oli Hawkins and James Wilson all picked up injuries in training this week.
Blues left it late to overcome a stubborn Shrewsbury outfit this afternoon, with Jack Lankester nodding home the winner in the sixth minute of added-on time.
Teddy Bishop appeared to have his ankle trodden on in the first half and was subsequently replaced five minutes into the restart.
Jon Nolan was forced off midway through the first half with what the Town boss says is a groin issue.
“Jon’s was his groin,” Paul said.
“That’s football, though, this is what happens when you’re playing game after game in a short space of time.
“Teddy’s injured his ankle. It looks a bad one, but we will have to wait and see on both him and Jon.”
Oli Hawkins, Gwion Edwards and James Wilson all missed out today’s game through injuries that were picked up in training.
“Gwion won’t be ready for Tuesday,” Paul added. “He picked up a hamstring injury on Tuesday.
“We’ll have to wait and see with Oli, he had a little problem with his knee, but he’s doing better and hopefully he’ll be available on Tuesday.
“James Wilson won’t be available, though. He hurt his knee on Tuesday. He’ll be out.”
