Town forward on his return to action and tonight's impressive win
Jack Lankester said he was delighted to play his first 90 minutes of football for over 20 months in Town’s 2-0 win over Gillingham in the EFL Trophy at Portman Road this evening.
A young Blues side defeated Gills thanks to a superb strike from Armando Dobra before Ben Folami slotted home to make sure of the win 15 minutes from time.
Jack, along with eight other players in the starting eleven this evening, were products of the Blues Academy.
“It was a great performance from everyone,” Jack told iFollow Ipswich.
“The young lads went out there and showed everyone what they can do. Overall it was a really good evening.
“A few of us boys have played together before, so we all know how each other play and that definitely helped.
“It was my first 90 minutes in over 20 months, so it was a big milestone for me and to get through it with no problems was great.”
