“Every League One game is tough – it’s a battle and you’ve got to find a way to overcome that and get the win”
Andre Dozzell has said it will not be an easy game for Town when they travel to Bristol Rovers tomorrow.
It will be the second time the two sides have met this month with Blues recording a 3-0 win over The Gas in the Carabao Cup first round at Portman Road.
Town will be looking for back-to-back wins in the League with victory at the Memorial Stadium tomorrow following an opening day win over Wigan at Portman Road.
“We did well against Fulham in the week even though we didn’t get the result we wanted,” Andre told iFollow Ipswich.
“But we’ve started well in the League and we’ve got to keep that up.
“It’s a long season in League One and we’ve got to keep performing on a consistent basis if we want to get promoted.
“I’m expecting a hard game tomorrow. It wasn’t easy when we played them previously, but we played well.
“Every League One game is tough – it’s a battle and you’ve got to find a way to overcome that and get the win you want.”
The 21-year-old midfielder has started all four of Town’s games so far this season and spoke about staying in the team and areas of his game that he has been working on.
“I feel good,” Andre added. “It’s only been a few games, but it’s a long season and I want to be involved in all of it.
“As I’m now playing in a deeper role, I have to have more of a defensive mindset - thinking more positionally and aggressively in my play when winning the ball back.
“I’m getting more games now and hopefully I get the opportunity to keep showing what I can do and go from there.”
