"It’ll be a good game of football...they'll be raring to go"
Town's first team coach Matt Gill is expecting a tough test tonight [kick-off 7:45pm] against Arsenal U21 in the EFL Trophy.
Blues begin their campaign in the southern section at Portman Road against a young Gunners side, while Gillingham will host Crawley in the other Group B fixture.
"I think it’ll be a tough game," Matt told iFollow Ipswich. "Arsenal always develop good young players and they’re now in a position where they are giving opportunities to young players.
"If you look at the likes of [Bukoyo] Saka, [Joe] Willock and [Eddie] Nketiah that went back from Leeds - they’ve all had opportunities in the first team.
"Having worked in an U23’s environment, that’s the motivation that the players need. I think they’ll be raring to go.
"You’d imagine they’ll play similar to the first team. It’ll be a good game of football and we need to make sure that we attack it in the same way [as Saturday]."
Tonight's game will be available to stream on iFollow for £10, with Blues retaining 100% of the revenue.
