BOSS PROVIDES INJURY UPDATE

25 September 2020

"The lads are doing alright. We're starting to get some of the group back which is encouraging"

Paul Lambert has said that Alan Judge, Cole Skuse, Kayden Jackson and Luke Woolfenden are making good progress as they step up their recovery from injuries, but emphasised that it 'might be too soon' for some of them this weekend.

Alan Judge missed last Saturday's win at Bristol Rovers with a hamstring injury, while a groin problem has kept Luke Woolfenden sidelined since the EFL Trophy meeting with Arsenal U21 earlier this month.

Cole Skuse [knee] and Kayden Jackson [groin] are yet to feature in competitive action for Blues this term.

"Kayden and Woolfy are both back training," the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.

"Cole has also trained with us this week - it's early for him as he's been out for a few weeks. He said he felt good yesterday.

"Judgey will train this morning - we'll see how he is for tomorrow. He's a lot better than he was last weekend.

"The lads are doing alright. We're starting to get some of the group back which is encouraging.

"It might be too soon for some of them, but it's good that they're back out there.

Blues full-back Kane Vincent-Young, and central defender Corrie Ndaba have also been out, and Paul gave an update on the pair.

"Kane is a little bit longer, he's not played since Spurs, but he's getting better.

"It's almost a year since he last played competitively - so we obviously want him back soon but can't rush anything.

"Corrie is running again but like I said, it might be too early for some this weekend."
