Blues midfielder on Wigan victory

Teddy Bishop said he was delighted to score his first goal at Portman Road today in Blues 2-0 win over Wigan on the opening day.

The midfielder headed Town into an early lead with only his second goal for Blues, before Gwion Edwards made sure of the win late on in the second half.

“I’m delighted to get a goal today and hopefully I can add many more goals to my game,” Teddy told iFollow Ipswich.

“The manager said that I need to start adding goals to my game and that’s true, I haven’t scored enough.

“I’ve never even scored a header in training! I think I closed my eyes, looked up and it looped into the top corner.

“I think it was important that we won today to set the tone. We’re all delighted but we know we’ve got a lot hard work to come.”
