Blues maintain 100% record for off-the-field league recognition
Town have received the EFL Family Excellence Award for the 13th consecutive season.
Created in 2007, the EFL Family Excellence Award recognises the outstanding experience provided by clubs for young fans and families, as well as their efforts to enhance the matchday experience.
Blues are one of just three clubs to be awarded the title in every season since its introduction.
The award recipients were decided using independent assessments from families, who made matchday visits across all 72 League clubs, during the 2019/20 season.
Blues finished 3rd in League One and 12th overall in the EFL for family excellence.
In recent years, Town have introduced a number of initiatives to enhance the matchday experience for children and their families.
The First Time Fans scheme, which began in February 2019, has been a huge success, ensuring that a supporter's first visit to Portman Road is one to remember.
First Time Fans receive a behind-the-scenes ground tour before going away with a certificate signed by Paul Lambert and captain Luke Chambers as a memento of their first home Town game.
A Class of Blues programme followed, where pupils from a local school are invited to Town's home stadium for a tour and some football-based lessons before receiving free tickets to the next Blues fixture from a first-team player.
This is in addition to the continued success of the matchday FanZone which has a range of activities for all the family including refreshments, live music, inflatables and - of course - the opportunity to have a pre-match kickaround.
Away from matchdays, Town's Junior Blues scheme continues to thrive while the Club's Trust was re-launched at the beginning of last season, further illustrating Blues' commitment to giving back to the local community.
