Late Latics penalty sees spoils shared

Town U23s drew 1-1 with Wigan away from home this afternoon.

The young Blues took the lead against The Latics, but were forced to settle for a point in the Professional Development League Two affair following a late penalty from the hosts.

Alfie Cutbush saw a free-kick strike the woodwork before hitting the back of the goalkeeper and dropping over the line as Blues took the lead in the 81st minute.

But in the fourth minute of stoppage time Wigan converted a penalty to share the spoils.

The result sees Town remain second in the PDL2 South table.
