Boss on narrow defeat at Pirelli Stadium
Paul Cook described Town's defeat to Burton Albion as a "tough lesson" for the group.
The Brewers ran out 2-1 winners at Pirelli Stadium thanks to a late penalty from Lucas Akins.
Earlier in the second half, with the score level at one each, Scott Fraser saw a spot kick saved by Ben Garratt.
"We were in total control when we conceded the second goal," Paul told iFollow Ipswich.
"It's a tough lesson for the group because we didn't deserve to lose the game.
"We managed their threat and when that's the case, you have to make sure you don't get beaten.
"It's fine margins again and if we cut out the mistakes, there were positives to take for sure. We have to cut them out quickly, though, because we're not stupid and we realise that if we're going to try and get promoted, we need to win games.
"The travelling support was brilliant today and I thought Kyle Edwards did really well when he came on. He'll be a great addition for this football club."
