Town boss 'excited' and 'delighted' as two more sign on for the new era
Paul Cook says that it is important to remember teenage forward Louie Barry's age while fellow recuit Sone Aluko provides a wealth of experience to the squad.
Earlier today, 18-year-old Louie signed a season-long loan deal from Aston Villa, becoming the 11th addition of the summer.
Former Rangers forward Sone, 32, became the second through the door today when he put pen to paper on a one-year deal, the Club holding the option to extend his stay for a further 12 months.
"Louie's had a meteoric career as a young man already," said Paul.
"He’s an infectious character who wants to play football. Our job is to provide a platform for Louie to go along with his career. Hopefully, that can be in the team, scoring goals and lighting the game up for us like flair players are supposed to.
"We’re all really excited to work with Louie. We must remember his age and tender years no matter what everybody thinks of him.
"We’re delighted to sign Sone. He’s a player with a wealth of experience, playing for clubs as big as Rangers, Fulham and Hull City.
"He’s won promotions before. We feel the group of players we have is very young. Sone brings a wealth of experience to the club and to the team."
Louie is eligible for tomorrow's 2021/22 curtain-raiser at home to Morecambe while Sone could make his debut on Tuesday night when Town host Newport in the Carabao Cup.
