"I think breaking into the first-team has really helped me and I'll keep working hard as a player and keep pushing on"
Zoe Barratt has signed her first professional contract at Town.
The 18-year-old forward has put pen to paper on a one-year deal with an option of a further year, becoming the seventh Tractor Girl to sign professional terms at the Club this summer.
Zoe joined Town from MK Dons in the summer of 2019, initially as a member of the Blues' WSL Academy setup. However, it wasn't long before the Cambridge-born forward broke into the first-team, coming off the bench to make her senior debut in the Tractor Girls' 4-0 victory over Kent Football United just two weeks into the league season. Zoe kept herself on the periphery of Joe Sheehan's side and scored her first senior goals for the Club with a brace against AFC Sudbury in September 2019.
She would feature a handful of times during her first season at senior level before cementing her place as a regular member of the Town first-team squad during the largely disrupted 2020/21 campaign. She netted against childhood club Cambridge United before once again finding the net the following week against Peterborough Northern Star in the Women's FA Cup, taking her overall tally to four goals in 11 games for the Tractor Girls.
Zoe ended the 2020/21 campaign in good form and as a result, earned her maiden England U19s call-up. She was one of three Tractor Girls named in Lydia Bedford's squad to take on the Czech Republic last month, with the Town forward featuring as a second-half substitute as the Young Lionesses secured a 4-1 victory.
"I'm really delighted to have signed my first pro deal here at Ipswich and I can't wait to get the season underway," Zoe told iFollow Ipswich.
