"With everything that has gone on and the results of late, the lads are feeling low but they have to stand up and be counted"
Town interim manager John McGreal spoke to iFollow Ipswich following a 2-0 defeat at Charlton.
John, who only took the position yesterday, gave his thoughts on the performance at The Valley.
"I would say after 20 minutes we felt reasonably comfortable and had good territory, but after the goal and in the second half, we were our own worst enemy," he said.
"We were sloppy in possession and looked wide open when we gave the ball away. Things like that have to be addressed very quickly.
"With everything that has gone on and the results of late, the lads are feeling low but they have to stand up and be counted.
"The fans want to see performances on the pitch. We did that for 20 minutes. Is that anywhere near good enough? Of course it's not.
"Credit to the fans for coming here in their thousands. Come Saturday, they'll be at Wigan in their numbers because that's just what they do. They love the Club and we have to improve for them.
"We have to do a lot better."
