WES ON WYCOMBE

29 December 2021

"They're one of the most direct teams in English football, so we're expecting a battle and a fight"

Wes Burns said he is feeling fit and strong ahead of tonight's meeting with Wycombe Wanderers at Portman Road.

The winger, who returned in the 1-1 draw against Sunderland before Christmas, had spent a month on the sidelines through injury.

"I was desperate to get back out there," Wes told iFollow Ipswich.

"But on the road to recovery you have to do everything correctly. I came back against Sunderland and felt good.

"Training has gone well and I feel fit and strong. We've got the new manager in and he has been working on little details with us all and we're feeling confident ahead of Wycombe.

"They're one of the most direct teams in English football, so we're expecting a battle and a fight and that's something we need to be up for.

"But there is quality in both teams and we can definitely hurt them. We were under pressure at their place but then showed good quality to come back and get the 4-1 win."

Supporters can purchase an iFollow Ipswich match pass for tonight's game here, while tickets for this evening's clash remain on sale here.
