Paul on three points at KCOM Stadium
Paul Lambert felt Town thoroughly deserved the three points against Hull this evening, and said the one area to improve on was being clinical in front of goal.
The visitors created plenty of chances in an eventful first half at KCOM Stadium, but in the end James Norwood's 15th-minute strike was enough for Blues to take the spoils back to Suffolk.
The result in East Yorkshire also means Town have recorded three clean sheets in a row.
"We obviously deserved to win the game and it's a step in the right direction, but of course we won't get carried away with it," the Town boss told iFollow Ipswich.
"The move for the goal was really good and it was a great pass from Myles [Kenlock]. It really was a nice diagonal ball and a smart finish from James. He got in front of the defender and then went across the 'keeper which is the right thing to do.
"The only thing I would say about the game is that we could have been more clinical. We got into great areas.
"And keeping clean sheets give you a base to build on. I'm really pleased for the lads.
"It's encouraging and we move on to the next one because we have another difficult match coming up this weekend."
