"We wanted to hold on until half-time but we struggled with trying to find an outlet"
Gwion Edwards thought Town would have taken something from the game against Sunderland had it been 11 against 11 at Portman Road.
Blues played 80 minutes with 10 men after Kayden Jackson saw red following a high challenge on Bailey Wright.
"We're all disappointed and frustrated," the Town winger told iFollow Ipswich.
"The sending off has killed us. I don't think Kayden meant to do it, but it's happened and the lads really needed to put a shift in.
"We worked hard to try and get a result and if we had 11 on the pitch we'd probably have taken something from the game tonight.
"We did our best to try and create stuff and stay in the game. We wanted to hold on until half-time but we struggled with trying to find an outlet.
"It was always going to be difficult. We're not getting the results we want at the moment but we'll continue working hard and we'll stick together."
