Dobra at the double for young Blues, but visitors snatch a point at Playford Road

Town U23s were held to a 2-2 draw against Colchester United this afternoon.

The young Blues were looking to make it four wins in a row in Professional Development League Two, and named a strong line-up with Brett McGavin, Armando Dobra, Jack Lankester and Idris El Mizouni all involved.

And whilst the result did see Kieron Dyer's side extend their unbeaten run to four games, they were just minutes from all three points.

A 91st-minute equaliser from Colchester saw it finish level, after a brace from Armando Dobra had seen Town turn it around having initially gone behind.

Dobra scored his first on the half-hour mark, eight minutes after the visitors had opened the scoring, and added his second in the 62nd minute.

The young Blues remain top of the PDL2 South league table on 24 points from 13 games.

Town: White, Crowe, Andoh, McGavin, Smith, Gibbs, Lankester, El Mizouni, Crane, Simpson, Dobra.

Subs: Ridd, Healy, K Brown, Z Brown, Oppong.
