Match winner on clean sheet and three points for Town

Mark McGuinness said it was crucial that Town posed a threat from set-pieces in today's 1-0 win away at Burton.

Chances were few and far between in a tight affair at Pirelli Stadium, with a fine header from the Irish defender earning all three points for Blues on the road.

"We knew what sort of game it was going to be," the 20-year-old, who is on loan at Town from Arsenal for the season, told iFollow Ipswich.

"They were very direct but I thought we showed good determination to reach second balls and challenge in the air.

"It's massive in games like today that you can create danger from set pieces. It wasn't a clean match and it was hard to break beyond the lines, so we had to make the most of chances that came from corners and free-kicks.

"I thought it was a good day at the office, particularly for me personally. As a defender I pride myself on clean sheets, and to get the goal was fantastic.

"It's important we back this up now. We have two big games coming up at home against teams that are near us in the table. We have to deliver otherwise today's win means nothing."
