"What the manager has asked of us is only what we should be expecting of ourselves"
Stephen Ward said Town have had a productive week on the training pitch following a disappointing defeat at home to Swindon last weekend.
Blues travel to Burton Albion tomorrow afternoon looking to bounce back from the 3-2 loss against the Robins last Saturday.
"We've won some games not playing as well as we could have recently, I think last weekend that maybe caught up with us," Wardy said.
"But we are all on the same page. There is no disharmony in the group.
"Harsh words are said after defeats like last weekend, but that's because we want to achieve things and we all want what is best for the Club.
"We're not naive enough to think that the performance was anywhere near the standard that it should be. We've had meetings and our cards are on the table.
"What the manager has asked of us is only what we should be expecting of ourselves. He knows there is quality in the squad and he's frustrated, like us as players, that we're not delivering.
"All in all the result was a negative one but this week has been positive. Our cards are on the table and we know what we need to do moving forward."
The Town full-back also spoke about players returning from injury and bolstering the squad for the remainder of the campaign.
Flynn Downes and James Norwood both returned against Swindon, with Teddy Bishop, Gwion Edwards, Jon Nolan and Freddie Sears all taking part in training this week following spells on the sidelines.
"It's massive to be getting more lads back training with us," the former Republic of Ireland international added.
"We look a lot stronger as a squad and a team now. We're going to need them considering the number of games teams are being asked to play.
"It's been a good week training and it's nice to have them coming back. Hopefully we can get a positive result tomorrow and start moving in the right direction again."
