Hosts win Martin Swallow Challenge Trophy following penalty shootout
Town played out a 1-1 draw with Bury Town at Denny Bros Ram Meadow Stadium in their second pre-season outing ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
Teddy Bishop, Kayden Jackson, Myles Kenlock and Brett McGavin were all involved for Paul Cook's side in the first half, before a completely new XI took to the field for the second 45 minutes.
As the sides finished level after 90 minutes, a penalty shootout took place as Bury claimed the inaugural Martin Swallow Challenge Trophy.
Cameron Humphreys had opened the scoring for Town early on before former Blue Carlos Edwards, now 42, netted for the hosts in the 71st minute.
It was Edwards that then stepped up and converted the decisive spot-kick - Bury winning 5-3 on penalties.
